Payment Options Magazine Exchange is pleased to accept payments in a variety of forms to suit the needs of our customers; depending upon the payment method they intend to use, customers may choose between three options when placing orders online: 'Credit
/ Debit Card'
'Pay Pal' 'Other Methods' Each of these options covers a variety of payment methods, as detailed below: Credit / Debit Card
We can accept all 'Visa' and 'Mastercard' credit cards EXCEPT 'Visa Electron' cards (card numbers beginning '4917' and '4508'). We can also accept all 'Switch' and 'Maestro' debit cards. The transaction will appear on your card statement as 'IMP Mail Order'. ** IMPORTANT ** Due to the
high cost of processing card payments a £1.25 card processing
fee is added to orders with a goods value below £3.50. To avoid
this fee you may choose a different payment method or increase the goods
value above the £3.50 threshold. Note also that the processing
fee is applied when the order is processed, and therefore will not appear
on the website receipt / invoice. Overseas orders paid by card are automatically converted into your local currency by your card company If for any reason you wish to pay by credit / debit card but would prefer not to do so through the website, then we are happy to receive the card details by phone, fax or post - see below for contact details
Pay Pal
If you choose this option we will arrange for a separate Pay Pal invoice to be sent to you. This will arrive by email directly from Pay Pal, and you will have to visit their website to make payment. Choosing to pay via Pay Pal will introduce a slight delay in the dispatch of your order, and will also involve an extra fee to cover the cost to us of accepting the payment: Order Value -- £0.01
- £4.99 ------ Pay Pal fee 7.5% + 20p Overseas orders paid by Pay Pal will be converted into your local currency by Pay Pal Other Methods

This is simply because our business bank account charges £1 for every cheque paid into the account, which makes receiving low-value cheques uneconomic. There are no legal or tax reasons - Magazine Exchange is a Sole Tradership, meaning that there is no legal distinction between personal and business accounts anyway. If you particularly want to pay into our business account you may do so by making the cheque payable to 'IMP Mail Order' and adding £1.00 to the value of your cheque
For Dollars: Multiply the £ value by 1.94 to get the Dollar value - i.e £10.00 becomes $19.40 If sending a Dollar Money Order add on an additional $8.00 to the total to cover our bank charges
You don't need to do anything - we will process the payment in £ sterling, and your credit card company will automatically do the conversion into your own currency using the most competitive exchange rate available.
